Virginia History

Check out a new website dedicated to Prince William County history.

eAudiobooks

Residents of Northern Virginia are eligible for library cards from all of the local jurisdictions including Prince William, Fairfax, Loudoun, Arlington, Alexandria, and others. This is a great benefit for the residents who can use library resources where they live, work, and shop. A bigger advantage is in using eResources. A big area that is growing quickly is downloadable eBooks and eAudiobooks. A quick check of a few of the local libraries revealed varying collections:

  • Prince William - 649 titles
  • Arlington - 636 titles including some in Spanish
  • Alexandria - 596 titles
  • Loudoun - 828 titles
  • Fairfax -3063 titles (yes, that's three thousand)
  • District of Columbia- 200 audio titles, 62 Spanish audio books, 200 music downloads, 559 video downloads

Fairfax Reads

Fairfax County Library has a link to a blogspot blog that lists the most circulated books during the previous week. The reader can read and write reviews of the posted books at the All Fairfax Reads blog. The reader can even put the book on reserve. Congrats to Fairfax for using Library 2.0 concepts!
